Our client currently seeks a Vice President of Business Development with a unique set of both technical, managerial, and leadership skills to lead new business development within the government arena. Utilizing the company's core radar intellectual property, you will work with government leaders, both civil servants and military Professionals to help them take a number of highly complex systems to production. This key position offers excellent job stretch, great compensation, and the opportunity to contribute your knowledge to help save the lives of others. Your future success will be based upon your ability to meet the following key objectives.

Job Purpose:
Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing Government contracts.

Duties:

  • Develops business development organizational strategies utilizing experience with in Government contracting by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to functional strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Locates or proposes potential Government Contracts business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
  • Closes new Government Contracts business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Develops business development operational strategies by analyzing trends; defining critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; allocating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.
  • Develops business development financial strategies by estimating and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.

    Skills/Qualifications:


  • At least 10 years of experience within Government Contracts business development and engineering
  • Musts be a US Citizen able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • MBA required - BS Degree in Engineering preferred. Must be able to write Technical White papers with support from Engineering.  Solid writing skills are critical for government proposals.
  • Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning
  • Proven track record of success in: Selling to Government officials, Government Contracts Domain Market Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Energy Level, Meeting Sales Goals, Professionalism
  • Working knowledge of DoD program environment; esp. FAR, ITAR, DSS requirements.
  • Demonstrated history of identifying significant decisions makers in customer organizations, building a rapport, and influencing decisions.
  • Broad base of customer experience working with the US Army, USN, USMC, JIEDDO, DARPA, DoD Labs, DOS, DHS/TSA/TSL, TSWG, DoJ, Defense Prime Contractors, Federal, State & Local First Responders, and their international equivalents. 

  • Close suburb locations of Orlando:  Winter Park, Lake Mary, Winter Springs, Oviedo, Heathrow, Sanford, Deland, Belle Isle, Conway, Ocoee, Winter Garden, Clermont, Kissimmee, Deltona
    Jacksonville, Leesburg, 1.5 hours from Orlando
