| Sales Account Manager - Energy Storage Systems (ESS) |

JOB PURPOSE & REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Reporting to the Sales Manager for Advanced Power Electronics, the Sales Account Manager, ESS pursues sales in the market for the assigned products and services and defines a focused pursuit strategy to secure established order volumes and margin requirements. He/She identifies and evaluates product and project opportunities, prepares proposals, and leads the sales pursuit and/or leads the development of new or ongoing customer relationships or maintaining existing accounts in accordance with company ethics and operational policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following for all areas of specialization. Other duties may be assigned.
� Knowledge or ability to learn about the applicable power electronics platforms, products, systems in order to define value to new and existing customer base.
� Generates sales for APE products, systems and services throughout the N. America region for Energy Storage products and systems. Preferred candidate will possess utilities experience or sales to utilities. Participate in and play a significant role in developing sales strategies, plans and forecasts for market segment.
� Initiate efforts to increase market visibility and penetration through aggressive prospecting and expanding existing business relationships to secure forecasted sales.
� Evaluate commercial and technical aspects of customer requirements and develop sales strategies designed to secure the account/order for ABB, while achieving maximum profit margin and customer satisfaction.
� Serve as primary point of customer contact for accounts or product/project pursuits while coordinating communications between customers and the entire sales pursuit team.
� Generate sales pursuit documents (internal and external) including but not limited to technical and commercial customer proposals, full cost model, risk-review and project hand-off documentation.
� Lead coordination of all pursuit aspects including Commercial, Technical, Scope, Schedule, Terms and Conditions to secure orders within acceptable guidelines.
� Ensure all required approvals are obtained in full accordance with established company procedures at proposal submittal and prior to order acceptance.
� Coordinate the internal hand-over process with operations upon receipt of an approved acceptable order per established company procedures.
� Coordinate and participate in industry events, trade shows, presentations, development of whitepapers, marketing materials, etc.
� Business travel approximately 50% on average, primarily in the U.S. Business conditions may dictate more or less travel. Capable of performing the above activities efficiently during flexible work hours and during business travel.
� Willingness to travel globally to develop and secure business as required. Requires ability to attain visa�s or other travel credentials
Education and Experience: Bachelor�s degree in engineering, business or related field and 5-8 years of related experience required. Utility sales experience is highly preferred.
