Quality Assurance Assistant - Healthcare - Medical
The Community Blood Council of New Jersey, Inc. is a licensed community blood bank and has been providing blood support in this region for 40 years. Our organization is non-profit, governed by an all-volunteer Board of Trustees. We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant/Exposure Control Officer that reports directly to the Quality Assurance Director and is responsible for administration of the safety polices and quality assurance of the Blood Center.
QA - Quality Assurance Assistant - Medical/Healthcare - Duties include:
- Oversees the administration and maintenance of the Blood Council Safety Program.
- Keep current with all new regulations for CDC and OSHA.
- Notifies the QA Director of any changes necessary to SOPs.
- Assists with employee training in Universal Precautions and fire safety.
- Conducts random inspections for safety hazards in the blood center.
- Assists the QA Director with all Blood Center inspections.
- Maintains competence in all safety related tasks.
- Assists in the preparation of employee injury reports in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Prepares recalls, look backs, and error/accident reports.
- Assists in the response to deficiencies given by FDA, State Department and AABB inspections.
- General knowledge of Blood Banking testing.
- Experience with Safe Trace or other blood bank computer systems.
Requirements
QA - Quality Assurance Assistant - Medical/Healthcare - Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Degree or Nursing Certificate from a national certifying agency. Five years experience working in an FDA licensed facility may be substituted for the Associate’s degree.
- Minimum experience: Must have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a hospital laboratory or blood bank.
- Experience with Safe Trace computer system or similar computer system a plus.
