Description
This position in one of our westside locations (dependent on patient care needs) will be responsible for accurately identifying patients and labs to be drawn/run, entering orders into EMR, drawing all required specimens for our oncology patients, running stat CBC, Creatinine and PT/INR testing. All non-stat testing drawn will be prepared for pick up by an 'outside' lab vendor. The volume of testing either performed within this lab or drawn for analysis elsewhere is reasonably significant. Must have good phlebotomy skills, solid technical skills, experience using the technology utilized for testing in the office, strong customer service skills, as well as computer skills. An Associates degree as a medical laboratory technician, or other laboratory technician education or certification, is required, as is at least 1 year of direct laboratory experience - preferably in a physician office setting. Prior Oncology experience desired. Must be able to work independently and have good communication skills.
