Energy Systems Group (ESG) has an immediate opening for an experienced Energy Engineer for our Johnson City, TN office. 

 

The Energy Engineer will be responsible for the development efforts for energy conservation projects in commercial, industrial, institutional, & government facilities. This candidate must possess strong communication and inter-personal skills to interface with employees, clients, subcontractors, and other professionals. In addition, the candidate must also have the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse workforce and customer base.  Coordinate the overall design effort associated with major energy improvements.

 

Engineering responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Site surveying of mechanical, energy management system, electrical, lighting, water conservation, and building envelope including windows, doors, insulation, roofing).
  • Assist Project Manager and Senior Performance Engineer with construction cost estimating.
  • Prepare schematic design documents and specifications
  • Energy Utilization Analysis
  • Prepare Comprehensive Energy Analysis Report
  • Assist Account Executive with the pre-development of projects as assigned by Senior Performance Engineer and/or Branch Manager.
  • Energy savings calculations, measurement and verification, modeling and forecasting
  • Knowledge of the latest local and state energy design standards and codes (ASHRAE, IMC, NEC, NFPA, LEED, etc.)


job Requirements

In order to be considered for this position, you will need to have the following minimum requirements.


  • BS Mechanical Engineering – PE required - CEM is a plus,
  • 3-5+ years experience in plumbing and HVAC systems design (including energy management systems EMS).
  • Good technical writing skills for in-depth proposals
      • Problem solving and computer skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, etc.)
      • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
      • Outstanding interpersonal skills
      • Be able to travel
