Commercial Sales – Presto-X
Presto-X has been providing commercial and industrial pest management services since 1932, and presently has 27 Service Center locations throughout 19 states in the Midwest. This Commercial Sales position is responsible for assisting in the continued growth of the St Louis Service Center, which is based in Maryland Heights, MO.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for the selling commercial and industrial pest management services in a business to business setting.

I) SCOPE OF POSITION Responsible for the procurement of commercial and industrial clients for the Company. Must meet sales projections, prepare reports and satisfy other requirements of the Vice President of Sales and/or Sales Manager. Additionally, will work directly with Managers and Technical Service Representative’s establishing, setting up new accounts and assisting in the growth projections of the assigned branch.
II) JOB DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES, OBJECTIVES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
A) Procures New Clients
·Contacts potential clients over the telephone or in person and sets appointments ·Establishes pest management programs to meet clients’ needs ·Writes outlines and personalize sales proposals ·Works directly with Sales Support Team member in development of proposals ·Submits proposals to potential clients ·Oversees implementation of new service programs with assistance from Managers and Technical Service Representative’s ·Follows up with calls to new clients to ensure satisfaction ·Contacts the Vice President of Sales and/or Sales Manager on a regular basis for direction
B) Meetings
· Attends quarterly Sales Training Meetings at the Home Office in Omaha, Nebraska ·Attends monthly Technical Training Meetings within individual Service Center ·Attends State and/or Regional Training Programs when requested by Vice President of Sales and/or Sales Manager.
C) Maintains vehicle
· Submits vehicle to authorized repair center for required repairs or regular maintenance
· Maintains vehicle in a safe, clean and organized fashion
D) Certification License, Drivers License and Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
· Individual state certification is obtained and kept up-to-date. ·Successfully completes the Purdue University Short Course on Pest Control Technology ·CDL
E) Completes Required Paperwork
·Expense Reports: Completes weekly reports and submits them to the designated associate at the Omaha Home Office no later than 12: 00 PM on Tuesday. These reports contain complete and accurate information about vehicle expenses, meals or lodging expenses, etc. (Reports received later than this set time will not be processed until the following week.) ·Sales Commission Reports: Completes and submits these reports to the designated associate at the Omaha Home Office by the 5th of the following month. This report contains records of sales made such as contract services, equipment, etc. (Reports reviewed later than this set date will not be processed until the following month.) ·Weekly Tactical Report: Completes and submits these to Vice President of Sales and/or Sales Manager; reviews this information once per week.
III) JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Personal Characteristics
·Must know sales techniques, sales presentations, proposal writing, and how to develop pest management programs ·Must know the pest management products and services as well as the technical aspects of the industry ·Must know the laws and regulations at the local, State and Federal levels which pertain to the industry ·Must have a valid driver’s license
B) Education (or Equivalent)
·Four year college degree ·Three months on-the-job training and classroom training
IV) SUPERVISION
Nature of Supervision:
·Consults with Vice President of Sales and/or Sales Manager for assistance and direction on selling, pricing, new accounts and other matters ·Attends quarterly Sales Meetings and discussions organized by Vice President of Sales and/or Sales Manager. ·Works side-by-side with Vice President of Sales and/or Sales Manager on a frequent basis in assigned territory to evaluate performance
V) JOB DEMANDS

·Requires the ability to develop, maintain and propagate potential clients and existing clients ·Requires the ability to recognize, assist and develop pest management programs to satisfy client needs ·Must be able to make accurate identification of pests and decisions on the most effective pest management programs and methods ·Must be able to build and maintain good client relations ·Must be punctual with scheduled appointments and required paperwork/reports
B) Physical
·Must be able to use service equipment such as hand sprayer, power sprayer, power drill, flashlight, respirator, gas mask, microgen, truck, and occasionally work in undesirable conditions ·Must be able to lift, carry, and spend much time standing, walking, bending and crawling ·Must be able to handle sprayers weighing 18 to 24 pounds and bait containers weighing up to 35 pounds ·Must be able to load and unload equipment
C) Confidentiality
·Client/account information such as sanitary conditions and pest activities must be held in strict confidence
D) Safety
·Must work and drive safely ·Must wear safety belt when in Company vehicle ·Must maintain equipment and vehicles in good working order ·Must abide by all clients’ safety requirements
VI) CONDITIONS OF WORK, PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
A) Hazards
Hazards include working occasionally with Technical Service Representative’s and Managers using ladders, handling pest management materials
B) Travel
Travel varies depending on size of territory, may travel 2000 miles per month - approximately 5% to 10% of time spent traveling
C) Work Schedule
Regular 40 hour work week, plus additional hours as needed. Perform other duties as assigned
VII) SPECIAL FEATURES
Technical Sales Representatives are required to manage their own time and efforts required to complete the projections set by the Vice President of Sales and/or Sales Manager.
