Summary of Contract Dietitian
We are currently looking for a Contract Dietitian to guide in providing quality and cost effective food service and medical nutrition therapy. The Contract Dietician will work 16 hours per week at our Living Center to help manage the dietary needs and concerns of our residents.
Responsibilities of District Dietitian
Duties of this position include following, in accordance with established policies and nursing standards:
- Assists in problem solving related to dining services management, quality nutritional care of the residents and other related services as requested by supervisor.
- Evaluate the provision of quality, cost-effective food service in compliance with established standards, regulations and procedures.
- Document approval for all menus, therapeutic modifications, and substitutions used in the facility based off the company diet manual to improve resident meal satisfaction.
- Evaluate food handling, sanitation, preparation, service procedures and equipment.
- Monitors resident eating habits, feeding abilities and diet compliance.
- Ensure proper documentation to meet all reporting requirements
- Demonstrate strong ethical and safety practices
- Participate in peer support / evaluation, in services, education programs, and staff meetings, and Quality Improvement activities as assigned.
Contract Dietitian
Requirements for Contract Dietitian
Candidates for the Contract Dietitian position should meet the following requirements:
- BS degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition
- Registration and membership in the American Dietetic Association
- Licensure by state, if applicable
- Continuing education to meet requirements for registration as set forth by the American Dietetic Association (15 hours per year)
- Ability and willingness to travel extensive distances by auto/air that may involve overnight stays and work on site with multiple LivingCenters
- Ability to communicate effectively and positively in all interactions
- Capable of maintaining regular attendance
- Meeting all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam, drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry if required
