    Job Description 

    Leading government contractor has a new opening for an EDIscovery Manager

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide services as an Electronic Discovery Subject Matter Expert by providing consulting on complex projects/cases; developing internal and client-based training programs (including of attorneys, experts, and support personnel); and providing review, assessment, and recommendations about e-discovery tools.   



    Works directly with Sr. Management, clients, and software development teams to identify best approaches, tools, and to identify and define capabilities, as well as to provide training expertise regarding the full e-discovery life-cycle, including creation of project outline forms, user manuals, and other documentation. 

    Provides mentoring and training to investigators and support personnel as required. Must have an in-depth understanding of the essential functions of Electronic Discovery.



    Responsible for tracking all aspects of assigned projects and maintaining accurate data for billing purposes, including communication with client to understand requirements to create efficient workflows, training programs, and client deliverables.  SME will provide management and clients, as appropriate, with frequent updates regarding all aspects of activities; will also ensure timely review and preparation of reports to clients and  management.

     

     


    Job Requirements 

     

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    Requires bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field) or equivalent, and 12 to 15 years of related experience. JD degree is preferred.  High-level case requirements analysis, planning, or training (including of attorneys), with an additional 5 years of progressively responsible experience may be substituted for the JD. Minimum of 2-5 years of E-Discovery SME experience with strong legal knowledge. Extensive experience with database creation, data collection, extraction, and conversion, as well as knowledge of litigation processes and practices, including excellent follow-up skills-must have enterprise-wide experience in litigation support, and broadly-based experience with lit-support tools and techniques. Strong technical oral, written, and web-oriented communication skills a must. Superior listening skills are mandatory. 

     

     

     

    1)       Identifying, reviewing, and implementation of new tools (both hardware and software).  This is more than someone who has simply used a lot of tools; it is someone who has looked at situations or tools, decided what was needed gone off and picked a new tool, acquired and implemented it.

    2)      Devising e-discovery training programs for attorneys.  This one’s even tougher, because it is not “just" a trainer.  This is a subject-matter expert who advises attorneys (and sometimes the industry) on practices, approaches, etc.
