Job Description 

GENERAL PURPOSE

To supervise and direct daily nursing activities and care a s prescribed by the physician and in accordance with accepted standards of nurse practice and regulation. To promote a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES

A) Supervision

     

  1. 1. Supervise nonprofessional and profession staff in the daily delivery of resident care.

     

     

  2. 2. Schedule job assignments and develop nursing priorities

     

     

  3. 3. Assist in obtaining substitutes for staff absences

     

     

  4. 4. Monitor work assignments. Provide feedback; evaluate performance, and redirect as needed.

     

     

  5. 5. Inform RCM or DNS of pertinent problems, as needed.

     

     

  6. 6. Communicate policies, assist and coach.

     

     

  7. 7. Complete quality care audits, as assigned.

     

     

  8. 8. Ensure that equipment and work areas are clean, safe and orderly.

     

     

  9. 9. Ensure strict adherence to procedures regarding hazardous chemicals.

     

     

  10. 10. Ensure strict adherence to facility fire safety and infection control practices

     

     

  11. Greet residents, visitors and staff courteously. Respect dignity and confidentiality standards and promote residents rights.

     

 

 

 


Job Requirements 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

       

• Must have current state licensure in good standing with state

       

       

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program

       

       

• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish this job.

       

       

• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance

       

       

• Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

       

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without the aid of Mechanical Devices)

Visual and auditory acuity within normal limits, fine hand coordination, frequent standing and walking. Bending and kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling wheelchairs and other equipment. Lifting residents (70-290lbs) with assistance as indicated, move residents in bed (40 lbs), up in bed (60lbs), chair to stand (60lbs). Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures. Ability to read, write, and communicate with residents, personnel, and visitors. Ability to remain calm under stress.
