Description Sr. Telecom Product Development Manager

Dynamic company seeks a dynamic, results-oriented individual to be a part of its newly created Product Development team which will report directly to the Director, Products. They are looking for an individual that can balance deep technology expertise with market and customer understanding.

Responsibilities:

The product development team has responsibility in 4 general areas:

Product Road Map: in collaboration with Marketing, determine new product initiatives that will launch over the next 6-12 months by considering marketplace need, company differentiators and capability assessment;
Product Deployment: this includes the entire process of bringing new products to life including product definition, initial pricing, internal process workflow, operations & engineering impact analysis & resolution, systems needs, technical training and communications;
Vendor & Partner Assessments: this includes tracking technical/capability developments among equipment and other vendors as well as the evaluation of partners from a technology perspective, and;
Competitive Analysis: this includes the assessment of competitive service offerings and the analysis of relative positioning and customer differentiators.
The individual must comply with departmental and corporate internal controls and all internal controls processes;
The individual must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity;
Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

BS degree in Engineering or other Technology field
At least 8 years experience in the telecom industry preferably in a fast-moving, innovative environment;
At least 5 years in a product development role and in particular with expertise in access and metro transport technologies including Ethernet, RPR, SONET, DWDM and CWDM;
Demonstrated success in bringing products to market;
Track record of managing to specific timeliness and launch dates.
