Summary

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for assisting Branch manager in supervising operations and staff of the facility to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability, meeting all company service objectives, and  maintaining a safe/clean work environment.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

·         Follow operational procedures and measures to ensure a high level of accuracy and efficiency is maintained.

·         Process returns and direct reclamation of damaged merchandise.

·         Coordinate and lead cycle counts.

·         Direct material put away from receiving dock into proper bin locations.

·         Train and develop associates in all aspects of operations including material handling, check-in, paperwork, equipment use and safety

·         Ensure customer orders are accurate and packaged properly.

·         Monitor team’s performance and keep Manager abreast of individual and team performance issues, both positive and negative

·         Supervise primary pick location replenishments.

·         Follow established procedures for discrepancy resolutions.

·         Ensure work environment is safe, secure and incompliance with government laws, DOT and OSHA regulations.

·         Work closely with BM in maintaining existing practices in addition to carrying out continuous improvement plans/tasks.

Education:

·         High school diploma or equivalent; and two to three years related leadership or supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Skills/Experience:

·         Supervisory or lead experience within a high volume finished-goods distribution environment; preferably with a distributor supplying business to business commodities/supplies.

·         Demonstrate and promote a positive, can-do attitude and a strong sense of teamwork with staff, supervisors and management.

·         Hands on experience in all aspects of distribution operations (UPS, LTL, Returns, Receiving, Restock and Transfers).

·         Demonstrated computer skills to include proficiencies with transportation, inventory and warehousing software. SAP or similar ERP system experience is highly desirable.

·         Ability to lift and move product (up to and over 50 pounds) to and from all necessary locations.

·         Excellent communication skills, the ability to lead and motivate colleagues.

·         As secondary key holder, applicant will be subject to extensive background check.
