Description Wyman-Gordon, located in Grafton MA, is a major industrial manufacturer serving a wide range of industries including aerospace, power generation, and industrial businesses. Manufacturing Process Engineer

                The purpose of this position is to provide program support to both Manufacturing and the Process Control organization.  In this capacity, the position will support/facilitate manufacturing process improvement efforts and plans.  This position will also be responsible for implementing cost reductions, introduce and implement Statistical Process Control techniques as well as associated measurement and control systems, assist and develop Training program initiatives, and provide administrative and program support to Reengineering activities at the site.



Responsibilities:
  • Support and facilitate Manufacturing Process Improvement efforts and plans.

  • Develop and initiate cost reduction programs in the assigned manufacturing area.

  • Introduce and implement SPC techniques and associated measurement and control systems.

  • Assist and develop Training program initiatives.

  • Provide Administrative support to Reengineering activities.

  • Requirements

    SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Strong communication and facilitation skills.

    • Good computer skills (software packages, languages, and operational systems).

    • Working knowledge of SPC tools and techniques.

    • Working knowledge of Synchronous Manufacturing and Kaizen process improvement techniques (processing mapping, QFD, etc..)

    • Self motivated with the ability to work autonomously or as a team member.

    • Good organizational and writing skills.




    Education:
  • College degree required (B.S. Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred)

  • MBA desirable.
