MISSION / SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing management and technical support for capital and departmental operations and projects in the Finishing Department. Initiate and support continuous process improvement efforts in the Finishing Department while supporting Six Sigma efforts. Supervision and Leadership of Finishing Department employees over 2 shifts.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for managing the finishing department and ensuring glueing equipment is running efficiently to budget, producing quality cartons that meet or exceed customer specifications and expectations.
- Plans, directs and manages operations to achieve operating goals and objectives consistent with plant and division objectives; maintains low waste and ensures production efficiency and quality.
- Identifies cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities in support of Lean Six Sigma efforts.
- Identifies capital improvement projects for the department and provides project management support.
- Manages department efforts across shifts and with other departments and functions.
- Establishes department goals in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and employee development.
- Ensures production operations are conducted in a safe and clean working environment and complies with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Identifies activities and opportunities that improve the manufacturing processes and controls costs throughout the department.
