Burns & McDonnell has an exciting opportunity in our Kansas City, MO office in our Operations group for an Education Coordinator.
This position is responsible for assisting with the implementation and coordination of education and training programs for the company. Specific responsibilities include the following, with other duties to be assigned by management:
- Tuition assistance program. Coordination of this program includes: researching yearly tuition rates for eligible programs; meeting with employees to discuss program benefits; processing applications, tuition payments, and tracking repayments; obtaining official transcripts and maintaining all related records.
- External training. The efforts related to external training encompass employee requests for off-site training and external training vendors. Processing employee requests for external/off-site training includes reviewing applications and expense reports, monitoring attendance, and maintaining related records. The coordination of external training vendors utilized by the company for ongoing classes includes: managing class enrollments, records, reports, billing and answering questions or concerns. This position is also responsible for researching new vendors to meet training needs.
- Instructor recognition program. Monitor and maintain system that tracks instructors of internal training classes. Create reports and identify issues with tracking system. Plan all aspects of the annual luncheon to recognize instructors (e.g., catering, marketing and communications, gift selection, agenda development, regional office coordination, etc.).
- Training development. Assist with the development of new classes or updating existing ones through researching specific topics.
- Audit requests. Process audit requests for employee licensure. This includes researching, compiling and providing appropriate (required) documentation.
- General Office Support. Provide general administrative support to the education and training department. This includes answering phones, assisting employees with questions and resolving issues (customer service) primarily over the lunch hour, serve as back-up to set-up training classes and webcasts, post information throughout buildings about upcoming training events, update department's SharePoint site.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years related experience, preferably in corporate education and training programs. Bachelor's degree in education, training, administration or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully research items, then effectively compile and present the results.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and external vendors.
- Proficiency in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Experience in utilizing technology to deliver presentations (i.e. webcasts).
- Attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
