Licensed Practical Nurse- Per Diem

The LPN provides direct nursing care while observing and maintaining security requirements. In this role the selected candidate will:

·        Uphold all rules and regulations governing patient confidentiality.

·        Recognize signs and symptoms of a health care need warranting additional professional expertise and clinical judgment and acts accordingly.

·        Recognizes signs and symptoms of mental illness, retardation, emotional disturbance, chemical dependency, suicidal ideation and responds accordingly.

·        Ensure physician's orders are implemented in timely manner. Transcribes orders according to MHM policies and procedures.

·        Properly administer prescribed medications, documenting all medications administered in accordance with MHM policy and procedure and within the standard set forth by the State Board of Nursing's Professional and Vocational Standards. Reports patient non-compliance.

·        Promote quality improvement standards by participating in the monthly QI audits.

·        Maintains a current Pennsylvania LPN license.

·        Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience as a LPN preferred. Correctional health care experience also preferred.

·        Maintains a CPR certification.

·        Must receive and maintain satisfactory background investigation report.
