Clinical Assistant Professor

Applications are being accepted for one full-time, non-tenure track position. This is a one-year renewable position (grant-funded) that will begin Spring 2010 and includes teaching in both clinical and classroom settings. Engaging in scholarly activities related to the position, service within the University community, and academic advising will be a part of the successful candidate’s responsibilities. This position in Adult Health Nursing will be a teaching assignment off-campus at the University System of Maryland located in Hagerstown, Maryland. A master’s degree in the appropriate field of nursing and licensure as an RN in the State of Maryland are required. The position is grant-funded for three years.
The Department: The Department of Nursing is a CCNE accredited program with approximately 325 undergraduate students. In addition, the department offers a master’s program in community-based nursing and a post-baccalaureate certificate in nursing education with over 100 students enrolled. The Department’s faculty are engaged in a number of collaborative program offerings on and off-campus and support the innovative use of technology and program formats and faculty models to address the nursing faculty shortage. The Department of Nursing also operates a component of the nursing program at the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown. This is a regional system center that offers undergraduate and graduate programs from the respective universities within the Maryland system. Towson University Department of Nursing offers its undergraduate and graduate nursing programs in a state-of-the-art facility, in downtown Hagerstown.
