The right candidate will hold responsibility for daily system performance in all functions of operations, including supervising dispatchers and drivers. The Transportation Manager is primarily responsible for on-time performance and driver accountability and contributes to maintain the safety culture of the terminal. Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company, the Transportation Manager provides leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The ideal candidate must have: proven administrative and multi-tasking skills; computer proficiency; excellent customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication skills

Qualifications:
Must be highly motivated and goal oriented and complete tasks on time. Ability to work with and motivate employees, coach, council and discipline employees when needed. Above average knowledge of Operations, Hours of Service regulations, and DOT / State Regulations within the trucking industry.

General Duties:
Responsible for safety compliance, enforcing company policy, state and federal laws and regulations. Transportation Manager has significant authority; as you are responsible for safety & compliance ,customer satisfaction and company profitability and live the culture within the location(s) assigned.
Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Specific Requirements:
5 yrs + Prior transportation management experience desired.
Must have intermediate PC skills in excel, outlook and database applications, obc systems.
Experience with routing optimizing in the Seattle Washington area.
Provide day-to-day leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company.
Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external. Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the terminal.
Provides leadership for problem resolution that will facilitate continuous improvements for service product and continues working relationships
A good educator who is trustworthy. The Transportation Manager serves as a mentor to raise the skill level of their people. A decisive individual who possesses a "big picture" perspective and is well-versed in systems. This person must possess a proven ability to lead and drive change in people.

A previous verifiable track record for customer satisfaction and people management.
