Full Time Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant will assist all sleep specialists with various duties including preparing patients for clinic appointments. Assists patients with personal hygiene, comfort and safety and provides a safe and comfortable environment for patients. Measures and records vital signs and other patient information. Maintains medical equipment. Transcribes and follows providers orders accurately.

The job responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Performs intake procedures for patient appointments including, but not limited to, blood pressures, pulse rates, weight, height, oxygen level and other physiological parameters under the supervision of a provider.
• Performs check out procedures and processes future appointments.
• Aids the provider with prescription processing daily and monthly. Track patient follow-up appointments as required for prescription refills.
• Provides instruction and educational material for patients about upcoming procedures or testing.
• Performs coverage for all front desk duties as needed.
• Provides training and assistants to patients using PAP therapy devices.
• Maintains equipment and assures necessary maintenance.
• Inventory and tracks equipment.
• Ability to write, type and enter information into the computer, using keyboard to prepare correspondence, or other documents. Copying information from one record to another.
• Assure timely response to all patient phone calls and inquiries.
• Manage PAP prescriptions and provide necessary information to homecare companies as needed for prompt patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in medical records regarding all patient care activity.
• Other duties as assigned by management or provider to assure smooth patient flow and overall clinic operations.
