Description
Applicant must have experience in the field of manufacturing - welding and machining of mild steel, stainless and aluminum.
Summary:
- Ensures no item leaves company out of compliance to customer specifications or in an unsafe condition.
- Eliminates non-conformances and rework by working closely with production and identifying any in-process production errors early in the production process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Follows quality assurance requirements and procedures
- Assures methods for inspection are in accordance with project specifications, industry requirements & company standards.
- Works with the Quality Assurance & project manager (PM) from the onset of each project, taking into consideration the complexity of the job & job specifications, to determine standards as well as establish quality expectations of finished products.
- Conducts required inspections at various intervals throughout the production process. Inspection includes all items furnished to a job including materials, in-process and final inspection using appropriate inspection measuring, testing, or gauging equipment.
- Maintains professional qualifications and training in inspection methods.
- Conducts in house testing and training as it relates to welding procedures. Outlines training to (QAC) and President prior to presentations.
- Controls Inspection Measuring and Testing Equipment, calibrating & maintains inspection, measuring & test equipment within established frequencies. Maintains required calibration logs & required files for each inspection article.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related quality system experience in the field of metals manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Design software and Internet software.
Certificates and Licenses:
Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) credentials preferred.
Work Environment:
Inside & outside of manufacturing facility.
Physical Demands:
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
