Description For over a decade, Joulé Scientific has been providing unparalleled staffing services for temporary, contract and direct professionals to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialty chemical and clinical research organizations. Currently we have an opening for a temporary Material Handler Group Leader to support a Pharmaceutical company. The position is located in Springfield, NJ.

Description:

Supervise, plan and organize all activities involved in the receipt, distribution, internal and external shipment of Laboratory supplies and materials (e.g. chemicals, gases, dry ice, perishable samples, lab apparatus and equipment, etc.) for all employees. This includes establishing and maintaining internal policies, and systems that will facilitate end user satisfaction, operational efficiency and record keeping accuracy.

Assure regulatory compliance to policies of the Department of Transportation, International Air Transportation Association and Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms bureau as they relate to the material handling and shipping responsibilities.

Oversee bar coding of all chemicals and solvents received and also the scanning of discarded containers of same for the Chemtrak system.

Oversee the pickup and issuance of hazardous waste solvent cans.

Assist the department Supervisor in managing the collection of laboratory equipment associated with the Asset Disposal Program which includes the responsibility of tracking and storage of the equipment in the offsite storage buildings.

Act as a backup to the other Group Leader when needed.

Requirements

Job Requirements : experience with material handling in a shipping/receiving environment; DOT and IATA experience
