Job Description:  Epic Clinical Applications Specialists, Healthcare, California



Project Description:

Our client, a prestigious, academic medical center located in California, is seeking to fill core permanent positions on their Epic Systems EMR team.  All positions will be respondsible for implementing, optimizing and supporting the systems being installed on the site.  Our client is requiring strong project management and Epic Application subject matter expertise.  Relocation is required.  Client will offer excellent relocation, compensation and benefits packages.

Sr. and lead Applications Specialist, Rev Cycle (Epic Hospital Billing)

Sr. Applications Specialist, Outpatient (Epic Ambulatory, clinicians only apply)

Applications Specialist, Inpatient (Epic Clin Doc and Orders)

Applications Specialist, Pharmacy (Epic RX, Pyxis)

Lead or Sr. Applications Specialist, HIM (Epic HIM, Softmed --medical records exp. required)

Principal Trainer - Ambulatory (Epic certified)



Job Summary:

Positions are responsible for achieving in-depth knowledge of the Epic software and serve as a bridge between end users and Epic implementation staff.  The Applications Specialists are dedicated to each major application or application group.  These individuals should be very dedicated to each major application group.  These individuals should be very knowledgeable about policies, procedures, and business operations.  They conduct regular day to day communication with Epic's installation team, review the software, analyze business operations, and work with Epic and Business Representatives/Subject Matter Experts and your end users to tailor the system to fit the organization's needs.  On an as needed basis, they perform in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the use of Epic software.  They are respondsible for developing and documenting the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with Epic applications.

Requirements

Additional Desired:

  • Full lifecycle implementation (design, build, validate and go-live) experience of an Epic application
  • Epic certification desired
  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant healthcare information systems experience required
  • demostrated knowledge of basic project management methodologies and system analysis
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analystical and problem solving skills including tolerance for ambiguity
  • Strong computer skills including Windows, Exchange/Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio and MS Project
