Position
Charge Verification Specialist
Job Description
- Researches and verifies insurance coverage and bills medical charges.
- Researches and reviews patient accounts; communicates with 3rd party payers and employer groups to obtain accurate account information and updates account information in the billing system.
- Enters medical charges and balances daily batches.
- Performs and assists with other department duties as needed.
- Delivers high level of customer service.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Must be able to type a minimum of 10,000 keystrokes per hour
- Knowledge of using basic personal computers in a Windows environment with an emphasis on word processing and data entry
- Knowledge and skill in using a 10-key adding machine
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as adding, subtracting and multiplying
- Knowledge of medical insurance, ICD-9 and CPT coding helpful

8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday
Compensation
Pay rate is $8.26/hour
