Job Description

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsibilities include designing mechanical devices, mechanisms, sub-modules, and structures to meet product system specification.  The engineer will be involved from the initial concept forming, mechanical design exercise, stress/fatigue analysis, reliability assessment, drawing creation, and supporting fabrication and testing/validation tasks. Experience large structural steel welding and reliability


RESPONSIBILITIES

Design mechanical components and modules for various assigned projects.
Prepare detailed 3D models and design drawings for systems, components and assemblies
Assess design performance and reliability using hand calculation, FEA, fatigue, etc
Assist senior engineer to execute mechanical design plans
Support fabrication of prototype systems
Periodic travel to test sites and customer installations as well as on-site work

Key Words: ANSYS, Abaqus, or DNYA, DFM/DFA, prototyping, electronic packaging


REQUIRED SKILLS

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  US Citizenship is required
4 years industrial experience in mechanical system and components is a must.
Strong experience in 3D CAD modeling using Solidworks
Knowledge in the field of machine design, electronic packaging, and DFM/DFA
Experience in FEA software of ANSYS/WB, Abaqus or Dyna  and fatigue life calculation
Strong skills of drafting and knowledge of GD&T

DESIRED SKILLS       
           
Experience with large marine structural device and/or system design
Knowledge of material selection and corrosion resistance
Willingness and desire to take complete ownership and responsibility for projects
Good presentation skills. Hands on!!!!
