Our Client, located in the Durham area is looking to add a Sr. Staff Accountant to their staff for a 6 month project assignment.
Assist with testing and implementation of the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system, closely working with business customers and the Information Services Team. Assist with the load of financial data to HFM, reconcile, and ensure data is accurate and consistent. The accountant will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information used for the consolidation of financial statements submitted to Corporate using the HFM system. This is a temporary position for the HFM project and will involve detailed reconciliation of financial data from the Macola and NetSuites accounting system to the files sent to Corporate for the HFM financial statement consolidation process. In reviewing the data, the accountant will also evaluate current processes and procedures to ensure financial data will be submitted timely to Corporate and that the data is accurate and comply with GAAP and company policies and procedures. Duties will also include assisting in the monthly close process as needed which will include but not limited to closing journal entries, foreign currency translation, account reconciliations, intercompany invoicing and reconciliations, financial statement consolidations and review. This position will interface with accounting and non-accounting staff to ensure that required financial information is properly recorded and submitted to corporate. Additionally, the position will assist with the maintenance of the accounting and financial reporting systems and review and analyze financial statements to determine integrity and accuracy.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements.
2. The accountant will need to acquire or have an in-depth knowledge of the business and financial models, multi-currencies financial statements, and consolidation structures of the company for GAAP reporting in order to provide input to other accountants and support the business development.
3. Ensure financial records are in compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
4. Help to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
5. Maintenance of accounting systems, working on a variety of problems of moderately complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
6. Assist with the resolution of any accounting discrepancies and irregularities in financial data.
7. Help to ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
8. Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
9. Establish and maintain effective relationships with other team members.
MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA a plus
• 5+ years of general accounting experience with a public, multi-national company
• Preferred mix of both public accounting and industry accounting experience, preferably Big 4
• Experience with large computerized accounting systems in a fast-paced, high-growth company
• SAP, Macola and HFM experience preferred
• Proven GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge and understanding
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization

Enrollment & School Oversight Responsibilities
Implements the necessary management responsibilities to ensure maximum enrollment and profit.
• Responsible for increasing the income through building enrollment.
• Handles inquiry calls and parent tours
• Develop and execute programs designed to involve the parents and community in school activities.
• Plan family 'open houses,' dinners, events, and class programs.
• Oversight of internal and external marketing activities
• Set up and ensure implementation of strong parent communications (e.g. conferences, newsletters, etc.)
• Develop interface with all state licensing and other regulatory agencies involved in child care center operations to ensure continued compliance and re-licensing of center including Division of Child Development, Sanitation, and Fire inspectors.

• Ensure that all policies are followed to ensure the safety of the children and staff
Cost Control & Financials
• Responsible for increasing the profit through increased income and proper cost control including food, staffing, educational supplies.

• Manage inventory and ordering of marketing materials, educational supplies, and other items financial functions of collecting fees, depositing all monies, recording all accounts, preparing time cards and forwarding data to owners in a timely fashion.

Staff Management
• Selects, hires, and evaluates all staff including teachers, food service personnel, and administrators

• Trains new staff prior to them starting work, ensuring that each fully understands Primrose Schools’ philosophy and all policies and procedures.
• Conduct monthly total staff meetings to review monthly calendar of events for upcoming month and other topics of interest or concern.
