The Alice C. Tyler Village of Childhelp resting on 270 acres in Lignum, Va. (25 miles West of Fredericksburg and 15 miles East of Culpeper off of Route 3) is searching for full-time and part-time Recreation Coordinators.
 

The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning, promoting, and facilitating activities included in a comprehensive activities program reflective of all children's developmental, recreational, and leisure needs.

 

Major essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Maintaining department inventories, purchasing and program participation.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with the Child Care Workers.
  • Provides scheduled activities for all children as needed.
  • Acts as liaison with community representatives and coordinates activities involving community resources.
  • Oversees proper use of camping and sporting equipment, bicycles, fishing equipment, all recreation group equipment, wood shop supplies, arts and crafts supplies and resource materials. Many of the activities take place outdoors in order to take full advantage of the Village's setting. Successful candidates must be prepared for an active, physical job. 

job requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; BA/BS degree is preferred.
  • Experience in activity planning and recreation with children.
  • One-year experience working with special need children.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Appointees wil be required to possess a driver's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia with a good driving record.
