TRUCK DRIVER / Backup WAREHOUSE
Eastern Metal Supply, a national distributor of custom and standard aluminum extrusions and sheet products. EMS has earned a reputation throughout the United States as a first-class supplier of quality aluminum products based upon the principles of service and quality.
EMS has an immediate opening for a customer service oriented Truck Driver to deliver aluminum extrusions out of our Newark, Delaware operation to area customers. Depending on the number of deliveries each day, some of your time will be spent doing Warehouse functions. As our business continues to grow, this position should turn into a full time driving position.
Key Responsibilities for the Truck Driver position:
Operate vehicle in compliance with all local, state, federal and company rules and in accordance with generally accepted practices of safe driving.
Safely load and unload cargo as required
Complete a Driver’s logbook and vehicle inspection report according to DOT regulations
Inspect vehicle and required equipment to determine safe operating condition prior to departures
Review shipping papers for nature of load and special handling requirements as necessary
Check load on trailer to determine if it is properly secured and safe
Wear safety equipment when handling material
Maintain the truck in a clean, safe and positive work environment.
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Picking multi line orders
Wrapping orders
Staging and loading orders onto trucks

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications / Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Class “A" CDL Driver’s License with 3 years of experience operating a Flatbed trailer
Clean MVR with no more than one major violation within the past 5 years
Be able to read, write and communicate in English effectively.
Perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Read a tape measure.
Be able to stand for extensive periods of time.
Be able to bend over, reach upwards or outwards, twist, turn around and climb up.
Lift and carry heavy material up to 75 lbs.; climb on and off a flat bed trailer
Occasional overnight stays maybe required
