Company Overview

If you are looking for a comprehensive medical center with a full range of services, the latest in technology, and the compassion to provide you with exceptional care, you’ve found it at Liberty Hospital.

Located just 20 minutes north of downtown Kansas City, Liberty Hospital is truly a regional medical center serving Clay and Platte counties, as well as the northwest Missouri corridor – all the way up to the Iowa border. Nearly 50 percent of the hospital’s patients come from the northwest Missouri area.

One unique factor about Liberty Hospital is that it is a public, non-profit hospital, created for the benefit of its community as a political subdivision district hospital under Chapter 206 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri. It is governed by a six-member, publicly elected board of trustees who serve six-year terms.

Much like the area around it, Liberty Hospital has grown by leaps and bounds since it opened its doors in February 1974. What started as a 130-bed facility has now grown to 250 licensed beds and more than 1,600 employees. Nearly 350 physicians covering all specialties practice medicine at the hospital.

Our commitment to the most up-to-date technology is evident. We were the first hospital in the Kansas City area to purchase a 64-slice CT scanner. Our surgeons utilize a daVinci robot that assists with prostatectomies – allowing for better outcomes for the patient. Our mammogram equipment is completely digital, providing clearer images to our radiologists that allow them to more easily detect breast cancer. Our hyperbaric oxygen chamber helps difficult wounds heal.

But technology would be nothing without the people who use it. The staff and physicians at Liberty Hospital are second to none. Just, ask our patients – we have some of the highest patient satisfaction scores in the area. To us, that speaks volumes.

At Liberty Hospital, our people do amazing things.
