A well established hospital located north of Boston is looking for a Physical Therapist / PT to working in their Inpatient Acute Rehab setting.   The PT will work with a wide variety of clinical diagnoses including TBI, stroke, spinal cord injury, amputee, burn, neurological, oncology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonary, and medically complex adults and adolescent patient populations.

This hospital is truly a center of excellence for rehabilition medicine.  The Physical Therapist will be one of 12 PTs in the department, partnering with Rehab Physicians/Internal Medicine, Rehab Nurses, Case Managers, Respiratory Therapists, Recreational Therapists, Prosthetists, Psychiatrists, dieticians, and of course OTs, SLPs, and patient families and caregivers.  This is truly an interdisiplinary approach to rehab, and many of the employees have spent their entire careers in this welcoming and dynamic organization! 

The Physical Therapist will be responsible for developing and carrying out a customized plan of care designed for each patient to restore independence and emotional well being.  Therapists carry about 6 patients on their caseload, and experience true one-on-one and quality time with their patients.  Documentation time is also scheduled into the therapists' day.   There is a one weekend rotation (Saturday or Sunday) required every 6th week.  Although there is a preference for full-time, facility is able to consider part-time employees who are willing/able to work reduced hours across 5 days.

This hospital does a phenomenal job in training.  Senior therapists will partner with new employees to determine skill competencies, and develop specific training protocol accordingly.  New graduates carry smaller caseloads of 2-3 patients initially until they have established comfort with evaluations, systems, and processes.  The transition is slow and based on individual competencies and comfort level.  This is a great organization that truly invests in training the next generation of therapists!!!
