Description
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES – The Senior Programmer/Analyst leads the design and development of database and web applications to support the Shared Services Division (SSD), the Shared Service Centers (SSC) and specifically the Medicare Service Center. The position is responsible for taking business requirements from business users and incorporating those requirements into applications that meet the defined need(s). The position is also responsible for assisting the Director with other duties as assigned including maintenance and support of ongoing applications.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Design, develop, support, and maintain database and web applications
- Identifies and documents technical requirements by working with Business Analyst
- Provides development timeline and tasks and follows development project plan.
- Develops prototypes/models and determines sources of data (if applicable).
- Develops database and web components that comply with technical requirements and development standards.
- Develops and executes application unit testing plans.
- Facilitates system and user acceptance testing.
- Creates and maintains application documentation.
- Analyzes and executes change requests and enhancements.
- Resolves application issues.
- Develops appropriate application controls to mitigate operational and financial risks.
2. Act as a liaison between Database Solutions and business users.
- Actively participates in application design sessions.
- Provides technical guidance to business users.
- Devises technical solutions to promote business activities.
3. Mentors Programmer/Analysts.
- Communicates priorities and deadlines appropriately.
- Manages project workflow.
- Provides professional development by fostering best demonstrated development practices.
- Provides performance feedback.
