Vice President Marketing

Arden Companies, a growing Bingham Farms, Michigan based leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of outdoor patio consumer products, has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President of Marketing, to be based in the corporate head quarters.

We are searching for a market driven professional with high levels of energy and enthusiasm and a proven track record of success.  This position is responsible for leading an innovative Marketing Department that supports the company’s growth objectives by developing and managing a portfolio of business divisions.

BASIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Strategic Product and Marketing Planning

• Provide leadership in development of the marketing and product management strategy and execution of holistic and product-line plans.
• Manage and measure the profitability, and the resources necessary, to achieve goals by business category, product line and product.
• Coach and mentor the Marketing team, with the goal of helping them exceed their potential as a group and as individuals, while contributing to the company’s culture and growth.
• Identify and collaborate with Sales and Design a winning, unique, go-to-market strategy, by retailer and channel, and with major customers actively participate in the meetings.

Market Research

• Establish on-going effective product, category, and industry research that is connected to the end consumer, the marketplace, and the retailers.

Product Development

• Lead the Product Development process from concept through launch to create new, refreshed, and innovative products to meet growth objectives.

Merchandising

• Create in coordination with Design and external resources, integrated merchandising solutions for specific customers or trade channels.

Branding and Licensing

• Contribute to the expansion and nurturing of the Arden brand and maximize the opportunity to connect with end customer

DEGREE of SUPERVISION:

• Multiple Direct Reports

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•  Minimum 10-15 years of experience in the consumer product industry
• Research & Product Development experience with successful launch of products
• Proven relationships with major retailers 
•  Experienced team building and mentoring abilities
• Entrepreneurial, strategic individual who is a visionary thinker
• Resilient, adaptable, and able to work in fast paced environment
•  Domestic and International travel

EDUCATION, OR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 4-year college degree (MBA a plus)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical principles and financial skills will be required
