Description Universal Orlando Resort -- home of the world's two most amazing theme parks, Universal Studios and Universal's Islands of Adventure, the extraordinary Universal CityWalk entertainment center and our three fabulous hotels, PORTOFINO BAY, HARD ROCK and ROYAL PACIFIC -- is currently seeking the following professional to join our team.

Senior Attorney

The successful candidate must have a strong background in commercial transactions and data security, coupled with intellectual property experience. Our Sr. Attorney will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and interpreting complex commercial contracts; managing collections issues and various other projects. They will be reviewing and maintaining corporate legal compliance with the data security/data protection and financial regulations.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Drafts, reviews and negotiates complex contracts, letter agreements and other legal documentation resort wide with a primary focus on IT service and software license agreements, food service agreements, merchant processing and other financial services agreements, and equipment leases.
  • Oversees corporate governance and compliance regarding data security/data protection issues and financial regulation, including but not limited to compliance with FACTA and PCI.
  • Dispute resolution with contracted parties; terminations of contracts; oversee bankruptcy and collection issues.
Requirements
    Job Requirements:
    • Juris Doctor required.
    • 5-7 years experience negotiating complex commercial contracts and transactions and managing data security/data protection issues, in a corporate legal department or law firm environment; some intellectual property experience regarding patent, trademark and copyright issues preferred.
    • Florida State Bar registration required.
