   UCFS seeks a compassionate individual for a part-time position at Backus Hospital in our Community Outreach Services Dept. This exciting opportunity will allow you to improve healthcare access to the underserved in the Norwich area. As an Access to Care Specialist you will help clients & their families apply for public assistance (e.g. Husky, SAGA & Medicaid), find affordable healthcare & connect with resources in our community.

   This position is a one year temporary Grant funded position that may or may not be subject to renewal. It is part-time, approx. 20 hours/week during the late afternoon, evening and weekend. It is located at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT.

 

   UCFS has been a cornerstone in the community since 1877 providing an array of Health & Human Services to Eastern, CT. Our team of 300+ staff is dedicated to improving the health & well beingof the community in which we live & serve. Come join our team.

Requirements

-  Associates Degree or equivalent plus two years experience serving low-income families &   
   teens in a healthcare, human service or eligibility verification setting
  
   Educational requirement will be wiaved in lightof work experience and ability to respond to
   culturally diverse population

-  Schedule flexibility for late afternoon, evening and weekend hours that may alternate
 

-  Candidates will have exceptional communication skills, solid computer skills and be
    culturally sensitive & passionate about helping others in

-  Ability to interface with an array of external agencies and our diverse community

 

-  Bilingual &/or bicultural candidates preferred - Spanish or Creole French speaking
