Histology Laboratory Manager

Description New Position, New Lab, New Equipment
Full time, Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM 

As part of WESTMED Group's (a.k.a. Westchester Medical Group) strategic growth we are preparing to open a fully automated Histology Lab to compliment our full range of clinical services in our 160+ multi-specialty physician medical practice.

We are currently seeking an extraordinary candidate to ensure the efficient operation of our new Histology laboratory. Working under the direction of the CFO and with the lead Pathologist, you will coordinate a wide variety of administrative, personnel, technical and quality assurance activities. In this highly visible and multi-faceted role, you will also initiate new procedures as well as study, refine and modify established methods and techniques. In addition, you will work with the leadership team - as well as the staff - to resolve any laboratory problems. A critical part of your role is to provide direction and supervision of histotechnologists. As a metric based organization, you will be challenged to provide superior customer service, high quality results and profitability.  Establishing efficient procedures and metrics to monitor cost per slide to contribute to profitability goals while providing superior medical services is key to success.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree, preferred in Medical Technology

• HT/HTL (ASCP) Certification required
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required
• 10 years experience as Histotechnologist preferred
• Minimum 5 years management experience preferred
• Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, communications and computer skills required
• MBA or related science degree preferred
