Job Description

Principal Accountabilities: 
 
  • Generates established production reports, and develops assigned ad-hoc requests in the agreed upon timeframes.
  • Performs analysis of processes, procedures, and practices, within department, and identifies and makes recommendations for improvement.
  •  Responsible for communication to customer regarding report development, development issues, modifications and general inquiries regarding report requests.
  •  Responsible for creating Operating Procedures for all production reports, and responsible for training Report Analysts on these procedures.
  •  Participates on project teams as assigned, providing input from a reporting perspective.
  •  Addresses requests promptly and courteously, honors commitments, and displays persistence in obtaining necessary information to address issues and problems. 
  •  Analyzes report requests from client’s and develops process for creating reports based on business area’s needs, coordinating this development with Information Services when the development process requires a programmer.
  •  Regularly interacts with assigned user areas to discuss, observe, and review tasks associated with their departments reporting requests.  Maintains open communication and ensures that all parties are informed.
  •  Responsible for all reporting documentation, including Report Request Form, Functional Specification, and Test Scripts. 
  •  Responsible to bring issues and possible resolutions to the attention of the supervisor, to determine the course of action.
  •  Develop and implement reporting efficiencies, based on identified opportunities that have been approved by the Supervisor.
  •  Regularly works with multiple computer applications to develop reports to meet business user’s specifications.  Able to identify appropriate data fields in the database selected to create these reports.
  •  Frequently reviews current reporting processes to identify opportunities for efficiencies.  Communicates with stakeholders to determine appropriate courses of action prior to enacting changes in reporting processes.


Job Requirements

Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree in Information Science or HealthCare OR 2-4 years equivalent combination education and experience required.

 


Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience as a departmental liaison to IS required; preferably in healthcare environment.  Minimum 2 years direct user interface experience required.  Demonstrated success as a Business Analyst or equivalent related experience.  Minimum 2 years experience in report development and analysis.

 

  • Basic understanding of SQL language with the ability to develop scripts to query data.

    Strong working knowledge of Excel, Access, Word

 

  • Eagerness to learn new applications used for reporting.

     

    Ability to interface with all levels of management.

 

  • Demonstrated meeting facilitation skills.

 

  • Ability to analyze business area’s reporting needs, and method of reporting to be used.
