seeking a highly motivated, hard working top performer to join our team.
The Steel Warehouse and Yard
Manager is responsible
for managing all warehouse and yard activities for all personnel in the steel
operations department. Typical
activities include loading and unloading of steel products, first-stage
processing of steel products, and frequent interaction with customers. This position is also responsible for
ensuring proper compliance with our safety program and overseeing our crane,
forklift, and other training programs.
Primary Duties
·
Train, develop, and manage the dayshift and
nightshift operations workforce to achieve the highest level of customer
service for both internal and external customers.

Manage weekly warehouse and yard safety meetings
in accordance with company’s safety program.
·
Responsible for monthly facility safety
inspections.
·
Coordinate with management in space planning for
warehouses and yards to maximize efficiency and costs, and maintain clean and
organized warehouses and yards for safe and efficient operation.
·
Maintain a security program that protects all company
assets contained within the physical plant.
·
Manage the steel division crane, forklift, and
other necessary certification processes.
·
Ensure compliance with material quality
assurance program.
·
Conduct formal performance reviews of personnel
on an annual basis.
·
Ensure compliance with all company policies by
warehouse and yard employees.
·
Manage warehouse supply purchasing.
Skills

verbal and written form.

Intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet programs
and PC operation.

Compensation
$70K + (commensurate with product knowledge and industry experience)
Requirements
7-10 years
logistics experience, preferably in warehouse distribution management.
