Software Engineer – Technical Lead

This is a unique opportunity to utilize your experience and work in a great team designing and developing software for the telecommunications industry. JDSU is seeking a self-starting, experienced software engineer who wants to provide technical leadership and wants to grow with the company. You will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle. In this role, you will be the technical leader, responsible for the design and implementation of Enterprise OSS software used to deliver service assurance solutions to providers globally.

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you should meet the following qualifications:

• Completed a BSCS or an equivalent degree

• At least 10 to 15 Years of OSS software development experience.

• Good problem solving and communication skills

• Demonstrated experience in leading the architectural definition of a product

• Experienced in communicating with customers and marketing to help define and prioritize phased implementation across product release cycles

• Experienced in creating accurate and detailed levels of effort for long and short range planning

• Proven track record of mentoring junior team members

• Technology:

• Experienced in developing distributed, multi-threaded applications.

• Must have extensive knowledge of relational databases (Oracle 8x or 9x)

• Must have significant experience with communication protocols such as SNMP, TL1, CORBA, RMI, etc.

• Extensive knowledge in several of the following programming languages and technologies: Java, C++, XML, HTML, J2EE Servlets/JSP in a UNIX environment (IBM AIX or SUN Solaris preferred)
