Transportation Analyst

Supplier Compliance and Relations, responsible to :

 

• Reply to all supplier emails within 24 business hours.

   

• Improve LTL compliance from 90% to 95+% by Feb 2010.

• Implement air compliance program and achieve 100% by March 2010.

• All new compliance requests from the customer should be created and process in place within 30 days.

• · Import/export and update information in an Access database.

• Create Access databases using multiple data sets and create queries in order to analyze data correctly.

•  Managing the shared folder which generates 15-20 emails per day that need attention, action and follow-up.

• Email's pertain to issued charge-backs regarding supplier compliance
•  80% of emails are asking for information on why a charge-back was issued-these need research and education to the supplier so further chargeback's can be avoided.
•  20% of emails require further contact or follow-up with other Navistar departments such as billing, 3^rd party providers, and transportation divisional leads.
•  In some cases escalation to Navistar's supply management team may be necessary in order to resolve certain issues.
•  Leading current and new supplier compliance projects (3PL and 4PL) -ability to work independently.
• Create Weekly Executive Summary report by division and mode that is distributed to the appropriate Menlo / Navistar management team.
• Create a Weekly Non-Complaint report by mode
• Requires the need to scrub data using Microsoft Access
•  Will need to manage/analyze the compliance trends and identify areas of improvement and follow-up with issues which may affect data or Menlo/Navistar operations 
•  Direct daily involvement with Navistar transportation operations and a Navistar 3^rd party logistics provider to resolve non-compliance issues
•  Manage the debiting of supplier charge-backs to a 3^rd party billing provider
•  Serve as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in meetings and projects related to supplier compliance.
•  Update and maintain the Compliance databases.
•  Consistently look for solutions to automate the metrics gathering and reporting processes.
•  Attend and/or facilitate weekly conference calls with stakeholders on non-compliant issues. 
•  An understanding that this position will evolve as Menlo takes over more compliance related services and monitoring.
• Cross training in other areas of the department to ensure coverage.

• Strong analytical skills

•  Firm understanding of transportation modes: LTL, TL, intermodal and air

• Knowledge of rate structures: LTL, TL, intermodal and air

•  Ability to work several sides of the issue to achieve resolution

•  Strong Excel skills

•  Detail oriented

•  Excellent written and verbal skills

•  Customer service skills

•  Multi-tasker

•  Knowledge of Lean principles and tools

•  Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Access a minimum
