Job Description


The SAVVIS Network Regional Sales Director - West (RSD) is accountable for the network revenue growth, customer satisfaction, profitability, and SAVVIS performance for a group of accounts and/or a geographic region. Responsibilities include maintaining established revenue streams, developing strong relationships with the SAVVIS hosting sales, proposing and closing SAVVIS network solutions to new business opportunities, developing a successful team of direct reports, and identifying specific opportunities for growth within a given market.



Essential duties:

 

  • Identify and capture network revenue opportunities for SAVVIS network services.
  • Establish and grow a new or existing location for the SAVVIS sales office, lead the career development of direct reports, and manage the P&L status of an individual locations.
  • Communicates effectively with peers, superiors and subordinates.
  • Identifies, understands and solves complex internal and external issues.



Objectives:

 

  • Increase the sales in region of responsibility in order to meet or exceed the prescribed network quota on a Q over Q, and annual basis.
  • Hire and retain individual contributors that meet the established qualifications and productivity standards for their respective positions, maintaining 100% headcount on a Q over Q basis.
  • Lead the opportunity and funnel inspection process within the region of responsibility, producing an opportunity funnel that meets or exceeds the established standards of the sales organization.
  • Maintain direct involvement with client and internal SAVVIS departments in the 10 (ten) largest qualified network prospects and/or customers in the region of responsibility.



Responsibilities:

 

  • 1st level point of escalation for pricing, service implementation, and individual contributor compensation.
  • Schedule and lead effective team meetings which will include field and or corporate sales support resources.
  • Establish and maintain an active local or regional network of qualified, successful candidates for individual contributor or sales support positions.
  • Continuously evaluate and develop the performance of individual contributors through team and 1-on-1 sharing of best practices, scheduled and ad-hoc training sessions, and available corporate performance management resources.


 

 

 
Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Deep Industry and Product Knowledge – Managed & Unmanaged Network Solutions (MPLS, Ethernet), IT Services, Unified Communications a plus
  • Proven successful sales/sales management track record
  • Minimum 10+ years progressive experience in sales and sales management
  • Ability to identify, recruit and develop a successful team
  • Proficient use of internet for communication and research

  • Demonstrated level of success in the development of sales teams and individual contributors
  • In-depth knowledge of SAVVIS offerings, products and services
  • Strong existing industry relationships
