Territory Sales Manager

National Tobacco Company, a leader in the loose leaf chewing tobacco industry, currently has an opening for an energetic Territory Sales Manager for the Grand Rapids/Lansing, MI area.  This position is responsible for the sale and distribution of company products and programs within a specific territory and will cover retail, wholesale and chain accounts in the assigned territory to expand distribution of all categories and products.

About Us:
We are the third largest manufacturer and marketer of loose leaf chewing tobacco in the United States, selling our products under the Beech-Nut, Trophy, Havana Blossom, Durango, Stoker, Our Pride and other brand names.  We are also the largest importer and distributor in the United States of premium cigarette papers and related products, which are sold under the Zig-Zag brand name.

Requirements

-Must have 3-5 years recent, successful outside selling experience at the retail, wholesale, and local/regional chain headquarters level.  Ideal candidate will have tobacco sales experience.  Otherwise, must have experience selling consumer packaged goods such as beer, wine & spirits; soft drinks; or gum and candy.

-Ability to travel up to 60% of the time and to attend weekend trade shows, etc. as necessary.
-Bachelors degree in Management, Marketing or related field is desirable.
-Excellent interpersonal skills and solid presentation capabilities.
-Excellent selling skills and ability to forge relationships that help close the sale.
-Good problem solving skills and the ability to work independently while achieving goals and objectives.
-Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with ability to learn new systems quickly.
-Ability to dependably prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a timely manner.
-Excellent oral and written communication
-Professional appearance and attitude
-Must have valid drivers license and clean driving record
-Must be able to lift product cases, sales bag, displays and promotional materials.
