Description
Mildred Elley, a private multi-campus two-year college, invites applications for a dynamic, experienced Founding Chair for Professional Nursing in both Albany, NY and Pittsfield, MA. Established in 1917, Mildred Elley is a proprietary institution of higher education that serves its students throughout the calendar year with accelerated degree programs in several professional fields.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating curriculum development of the professional nursing (RN) Associate’s degree, developing and submitting all required documentation for the state and other accrediting bodies for approval, establishing clinical affiliation agreements, and recruiting adjunct and full-time faculty. Upon program approval and initiation, ongoing responsibilities will include all aspects of program management, including management of students, faculty, curriculum, clinical affiliations, and other tasks.
The incumbent will also work collaboratively with the administrators and faculty of the existing Practical Nursing Certificate Program and ensure collaboration, continuity, and ease of transition between nursing programs.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
• Possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN);
• Have five years’ of nursing experience.
• Have two years’ experience in management (Department Chair) or teaching (with administrative responsibilities) in a two- or four- year RN program.
• Be familiar with NLNAC accreditation processes.
• Hold a valid NYS RN License or be eligible for one.
The position includes a competitive salary & benefits package; an additional stipend may be available for doctorally-qualified or otherwise specially credentialed faculty.
