Education Specialist for ICU

ICU/CCRN/CVRN Education Specialist 

 

This Critical Care Educator is a leadership role that will provide teamwork within this very high functioning ICU staff.  Great, stable and dynamic environment.   Report to the Director of Education with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Director of ICU. 

 

You will help grow the Cardiovascular Service line including the Cath Labs and IMCU areas.  Work with 7 other specialized Educators in different areas. 

 

This Educator is responsible for developing, providing, and coordinating direct staff education, indirect patient education, orientation training, and development of curriculum and individual learning plans and monitoring staff.   Take turns teaching new employee orientation, CPR, and quality education but not solely responsible for these areas. 

 

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served.

 

Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.

Will be required to chart and support computerized charting. 

Requirements

BSN with a CCRN or a Master’s in Education.

Must have Critical Care and Cardiovascular experience. 

Prefer at least five years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
Completion of Basic Life Support other certification based upon specific nursing unit requirements.
Staff development experience preferred.
Must be viewed as a “leader".
