Job Description

Extensive experience with SAP Basis Administration, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, analysis planning, and execution tasks for multiple SAP core systems which includes experience with 5.0 to 6.0 upgrade is a plus ECC, 6.0


Job Requirements

  • Administration of multiple databases in a SAP production environment
  • Performs core SAP BASIS functions
  • Must have experience with SAP Enterprise Portal, Java and Business Intelligence
  • Manage database optimization, backup, and recovery
  • Create new database instances
  • Designing, developing and testing backup and restore procedures
  • Assist and guide tuning as required for reporting areas
  • Works closely with the SAP business units, development teams and portal and SAP BI teams and helps execute strategy.
  • Perform trouble shooting at the database level
  • Implement and manage database disaster recovery
  • Manage database availability and integrity
  • Manage the database(s) table sizes, segments, and temporary space
  • Monitor occurrences of new database releases and how these releases affect the application
  • Advise when to upgrade database software as well as the effort required to upgrade
  • Ensure databases have necessary fixes and apply them in a timely manner
  • Understand and follow object change control procedures
