Data Architect

This is a 6-12 month contract.

SUMMARY:

The Data Architect will work closely with Finance IT and Finance business teams to understand requirements and provide solution architecture design and technical specifications. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with Finance IT and Finance business teams to understand requirements and provide solution architecture design and technical specifications
• Ensure high quality and performance in the data architecture and data management results in delivering robust solutions to customers and clients
• Lead all activities including business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis and design, database and load optimization, and system implementation.
• Develop the detailed project plans for data requirements gathering, data modeling and database design, development and implementation.
• Facilitate JAD session with Finance IT and Finance business teams, walkthroughs/reviews for data requirements gathering, data models and database designs.
• Oracle OLAP experience is a must. Must be able to provide build cubes based on multiple dimensions and large dataset.
• Experience integrating Financial data mart with Essbase cubes

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

• A minimum of 10 years experience as Data Architect with 5 years experience architecting large scale Data Warehouses using Oracle
• Proven track record of database performance tuning.
• Expert designing and constructing data architectures skills (i.e. conceptual, logical and physical model design, experience with Operation Data Stores, Enterprise Data Warehouses and Data Marts) within financial industries
• Expert RDBMS knowledge of Oracle (10g and 11g) with strong experience on backend processes and engineering, Strong knowledge on Oracle OLAP and hands-on experience and working Knowledge on DB2, SQL Server (2005 and 2000)
• Implementation experience with ETL concepts and tools such as: SSIS, DTS, OWB,  Informatica, DataStage
• Solid skills on SQL tuning, PL/SQL, Unix, shell scripting, OLAP technologies
• Implementation experience with BI tools
• Functional knowledge of Java and J2EE integration technologies
• Possess strong communication and client management skills, and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience in financial industries preferred in derivatives brokerage firm 
• Oracle 11g experience is highly desirable.

EDUCATION:

BS in Computer Science or in a relevant field
