Prestigious Firm, located in Chicago, has an immediate opening for a Senior Microsoft Messaging / Exchange Engineer. Candidate is responsible for operational support of and project initiatives involving the messaging environment. This position provides maintenance, support, and enhancements of the messaging systems including Exchange, Outlook, Blackberry/BES, Postini, and email archiving. Candidates should be team players with excellent communication skills and have the ability to manage a multitude of assignments independently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzing, planning, testing, and implementation of Messaging application software
Actively pursuing new technologies to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the Messaging systems
Monitoring and analyzing the Messaging systems to ensure 100% uptime operational availability
Support high availability technologies
Performing root cause analysis and providing recommendations to improve efficiencies and resolve problems
Resolving problems with Messaging systems and technologies
Escalating problems to vendors
Providing troubleshooting training to the User Support team
Implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery solutions
Documenting system uptime and usage metrics
Maintaining documentation of processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides and change management logs
Provide 24x7 On-Call support on a rotating basis
Flexible to work overtime as require
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
Bachelors degree and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Strong expertise (5+ years) in Messaging systems
Proven troubleshooting abilities
Specific Messaging experience including:
Expertise in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2007 (to include monitoring, clustering, backup/restore, and attached storage)
Expertise in BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.x
Expertise with Postini
Strong understanding of message routing technologies
Experience with SMTP gateway tools and appliances is preferred
Experience with MessageOne EMS
Good working knowledge of Active Directory
Experience with Quest MessageStats, ActiveGroups, & Spotlight on Exchange
Understanding of IronPort Email Gateway
Understanding of TLS / SPN connections to firm clients
Understanding of Outlook Web Access (OWA)
Strong understanding of technical networking
Strong knowledge of Windows 2000, 2003 and XP
Strong planning and analysis skills
Strong documentation skills
Strong understanding of MS Office Suite and Document Management Systems
Strong understanding of email clients
