This is a 6 month Contract to Perm opportunity for an experienced Software Analyst in a rapidly growing Transportation/BioTech organization. 

In this lead position you will develop, install, maintain, and modify advanced transportation application programs, business application programs, and integrated programs. You need the ability to evaluate and interpret end user information requirements, and to develop appropriate systems and/or applications solutions. Knowledge of computer science, data analysis, and programming technologies, concepts, and techniques is required. The ability to learn and support new applications and systems is critical.  As a Software Analyst, you will need to demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment, provide effective leadership, and build relationships with internal and external customers.

This is a mixed environment .NET/Java with some older legacy applications involved as well. We are looking for someone primarily on the .NET side.



job Requirements

Transportation System experience with either Jevic, Conway, Roadway, Fedex/UPS, Yellow or any 3rd party logistics provider.

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Participate in the development, implementation, installation, and testing of applications software.
  2. Analyze user project proposals to include identifying potential problem areas and recommend optimum approaches for project path.
  3. Contribute through code/algorithm development and other means, for the development of tools and interfaces between application programs and for the development of debugging programs.
  4. Investigate user problems and needs, identify their source, and determine possible solutions.
  5. Provide system level support for applications.
  6. Investigate, recommend and install new applications.
  7. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
  8. Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
  9. Participate in the development of training materials and assist in conducting training and workshops in parallel processing and use of large computer systems.

 

Qualifications:

 

  1. Minimum of 3 years of Information Technology application/programming experience in related logistics, transportation, and supply chain environments.
  2. Significant experience with as many of the following (not all):  Transportation Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, EDI/XML, Customs Brokerage Systems, Document Management Systems, and Financial Systems.
  3. Experience with application development and support in a Windows server environment.
  4. .NET, Web, and Java development skills.  Progress 4GL and OpenEdge a plus.
Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Science or Math discipline.
