Description

Dental association seeks a Specialist, Media Relations who will create, produce, distribute and monitor media relations material that will support public relations programs which include, but are not limited to: national and local programs as well as annual meeting programs. Provide media relations, public relations and administrative support. Assist with organization activities and special projects as directed.

Requirements

Potential candidates must have Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism or related Liberal Arts field.  Two to three years experience (including internships) in media relations, public relations or communications; experience working with an internal media or public relations department or public relations agency setting required. Public relations agency experience preferred.

 

This person must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with AGD members, suppliers and media and present a positive image of AGD through these communications.  Have strong working knowledge of media outlets’ procedures.  Possess exceptional PC skills and ability and willingness to learn new software and programs as required.  Be flexible, adaptable, able to work on a wide variety of tasks independently and in a team structure, and understand meaning of confidentiality.  Possess the ability to meet deadlines, set priorities, work independently, and demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail.  Possess excellent editing and proofreading skills, good organizational skills, excellent customer service skills, excellent oral and written communications skills with good spelling and grammatical skills.  Be able to work overtime and travel as needed.
