Description

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers training, provides direction and constructive feedback, and assigns duties to other employees to ensure the Branch has a continuous flow of operations.
  • Directs job assignments and daily schedules to ensure timely and accurate receiving, put-away, order picking, packing, and shipping – redirecting work resources and workflow as necessary.
  • Contributes to a work environment that provides for team spirit, quality work, and safety.
  • Maintains appropriate sanitation and pest control of the facility; proper storage and maintenance of tools/equipment; proper salvage/disposal of approved damaged freight; and ensures daily compliance with applicable government regulations. 
  • Observes all branch personnel to ensure professional and courteous relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers are maintained; notifies Branch Manager and addresses issues regarding behavior.
  • Directs and oversees the timely and accurate processing of customer product returns within established Company policy.
  • Directs daily cycle counts, physical inventories, timely inventory adjustments and vendor returns to ensure inventory accuracy at the facility, and actively manages morgue inventory.
  • Assists branch manager in interviewing new hires, evaluating employee performance, and working to improve the P&L statement.
Requirements
    • High school diploma or equivalent required (prefer candidate with college course work in business or inventory management)

    • Minimum of three years practical warehousing experience as a lead worker in a supervisory capacity.

    • Knowledge of warehouse management systems, workforce scheduling, and inventory fundamentals is required.

    • Experience in stock handling, measurement standards, and inventory control (i.e., cycle counting, stock accountability, inventory accuracy) strongly preferred.

    • Experience using RF technology in a distribution environment is preferred.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented, customer-service driven environment

    • Forklift experience and certification desired.

    • Must be able to meet any minimum certification qualification required by any local or state board or licensing agency, as applicable.
