Description Director of Career and Student Services

Stratford University is a privately owned institution of higher learning whose mission is to provide quality, competency-based educational programs that meet the changing needs of employers in the emerging high demand fields of Culinary Arts, Health Sciences, Business, Accounting, and Information Sciences. For over 30 years Stratford University has been providing it's students with relevant skills and knowledge, leading them to satisfying careers and helping them to maximize their potential. In support of our mission and growing student population, our Woodbridge , VA Campus is seeking a Director of Career and Student Services. A proven goal-orientated and dynamic leader with exceptional management and presentation skills. The individual should be a strategic thinker with a solid track record of excellent performance in the areas of career placement and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive approach to providing short term and long term strategies in order to meet the institutional placement goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the overall placement of graduates and alumni into training-related career positions.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with local and regional corporations and organizations.
  • Develops and maintains systems used to identify employment opportunities for students.
  • Organize and sets student activities and events that build positive relationships with school and employers.
  • Responsible for the school’s community service, public information, and employer relations programs.
  • Provides career coaching and interview techniques through seminars and workshops.
  • Maintains department compliance with government and accreditation regulations.
  • Promote graduate recruiting with employers in the community.
  • Represent school at career job fairs and related events.
  • Conduct student, graduate, and employer surveys.
  • Oversee training and development of departmental staff.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum; Master’s degree preferred
  • Manage time and workload with little supervision while making sound decisions and ensuring timely delivery of desired results.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in recruiting, career services, and/or employment assistance
  • Management experience required.
  • Experience with group presentation and facilitating meetings.
  • Strong oral, written, and computer skills required.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • This position requires some evening and weekend availability/schedule.
