Description Journey to Safety (JTS) is JF&CS’s response to domestic abuse in our community. JTS offers culturally competent, religiously sensitive services to survivors of domestic abuse, with specialized services for the Jewish and Russian-speaking communities. Information, domestic violence advocacy, legal accompaniment and referral, and other resources are available for domestic abuse survivors, including teens, seniors, people with disabilities, and members of the LGBT community. Journey to Safety also works to raise the level of awareness about domestic abuse throughout Greater Boston, with particular emphasis on the Jewish and Russian-speaking communities.

The Journey to Safety Program is approaching its 10th anniversary. The right person for this job is someone with leadership skills and vision and who is enthusiastic about working collaboratively with the staff and Advisory Committee to create the plan for program growth and development for the future. JTS is part of the dynamic Basic Needs Team at JF&CS which offers clients access to legal services, healthy food and financial assistance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide overall leadership, vision and future planning for the program
  • Supervise the domestic violence advocates, interns and Program Coordinator
  • Provide leadership for the JTS Resource Advisory Committee with the goal of building donor base
  • Responsible for budget preparation, oversight, and monitoring
  • Work collaboratively with other programs in Basic Needs
  • Provide leadership and guidance for marketing, fundraising and outreach efforts
  • Work collaboratively with the QI Department and the JTS team on data collection and outcome measures and reporting
  • Oversee grant contracts and reporting
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Must be a licensed professional: LISCW preferred; licensed psychologists or LMHC
  • Must have experience working in domestic violence
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community preferred
  • Management and/or supervisory experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (excel, word, outlook, power point)
