Description

Madison Precision Products, Inc., a tier-one automotive parts supplier to Honda of America in Madison, Indiana is seeking qualified individuals for the following position:

 

 

INFORMATION SYSTEM TECHNICIAN/PROGRAMMER

 

MPP offers

JOB OVERVIEW:  Candidate will have working knowledge of application development (SQL, Access, VB, and VB script).

 

 Duties will include performing implementation and troubleshooting, gathering new functionality requirements, creating/modifying applications and databases, report writing and system coding, testing, debugging and documentation.  Troubleshoots software and hardware problems.

 

Applicant must have strong communication, project management and organizational skills, a pleasant and helpful personality, be a self starter able to take charge of projects, and adapt at prioritizing and reporting status of projects to management.

Requirements

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·   Create and maintain application code

·   MSSQL DBA

·   Create stored procedures, view and tables

·   Identify and or investigate code defects and make necessary corrections

·   Perform / oversee server and computer software installation, upgrade and configuration.

·   Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties during business hours and on an on-call basis.

·   Investigate, recommend and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network availability and performance.

·   Modify/Create Crystal Reports

·   Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and vendor standards.

·   Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.

·   Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.

·   Develops and documents operational procedures for supported systems to include implementation processes, troubleshooting and support procedures.

·   Other duties as assigned.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

·         Minimum of 5 years experience as a technician/programmer/dba preferably in a manufacturing environment

·         Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

·         Modify and create SQL scripts

·         Develop applications in C and Visual Basic

·         Ability to install, configure and maintain servers, networks, computers and related hardware and software.

·         Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques.

·         Ability to identify and resolve computer and network malfunctions and operational problems.

·         Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

·         Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.

·         Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the system being supported.

·         Experience with installing, configuring, maintaining and upgrading the following:

 Internet Information Server, Microsoft Exchange Server  2003 and 2007,

SQL Server 2000, and Crystal Enterprise

·         Visual Basic programming and scripting

·         Knowledge of SQL database creation, maintenance and performance tuning

·         Crystal Report Writing

·         Knowledge of Unix and Linux a plus

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

·         Associates Degree in Computer Information Technology or equivalent in education and experience.
